Documentary Wedding Photography Austin

Photos that make you feel your wedding day all over again.

In forty years, these won't just be photos. They'll be the bridge back. To this day, to this feeling, to the two of you choosing each other out loud.

I photograph weddings across Austin and the Hill Country. What I'm really doing is making sure you can always come back to this day for the rest of your life.

For couples who want to be in the moment and have someone else make sure it lasts.

Meet your Wedding Photographer

This day means everything. I've been on both sides of the camera. When I married Dan, I almost skipped the getting-ready photos. I'm so grateful I didn't.

A background in landscape photography and years of traveling and teaching taught me how to wait for the real moments, trust what's unfolding quietly, and photograph you without making you feel like you're being photographed.

I don't force anything. I know when to guide you and when to step away, so your images feel artful, emotional, and deeply yours.

What it's like to work together

1. Let’s connect

We’ll start with a relaxed conversation to get to know each other, talk through your day, and see if we’re a good fit.

2. Make it official

When you’re ready, we’ll secure your date and take care of the details from there.

3. Planning, together

We’ll shape the timeline with intention, making space for what matters most to you and how you want the day to feel.

4. The wedding day

When it finally arrives, I’m fully present — capturing the joy, the nerves, the tears, and everything that makes the day yours.

Marce was my wedding photographer and did an extraordinary job. She's incredibly knowledgeable and always makes sure to ask how you envision your photos so that everything turns out exactly as you imagine.

Let’s talk it through.

The finishing touches

Your images are edited with the same care they were photographed. I take my time with color, light, and tone so everything feels natural and true to the day. Nothing rushed, nothing overdone.

Embroidered bouquets

Some flowers are too meaningful to disappear. By hand-embroidering your bouquet directly onto a favorite photograph, we turn a fleeting detail into a lasting heirloom for your home.

Fine-art albums

Photos are meant to live where people gather. An album is the kind of thing you open with friends, share with your grandma, and maybe someday pass down to your kids.

Heirlooms

When we received the photos, we absolutely loved them. Marcela did an amazing job listening to what we wanted and the final images captured our personalities and our relationship perfectly.

What I Capture

I don't wait for moments. I see them coming.
I'll guide you when you need it, step back when you don't, and make sure the focus stays where it belongs. On the experience you're living.

Every collection is built around what your day actually needs, not a formula.

Frequently asked

In case you have some too, here are some common questions other couples ask me:

How long will it take to get our photos back?

You’ll receive your full gallery within 4–6 weeks, no exceptions. Sneak peeks usually come much sooner, so be ready for a little surprise.

I don’t like being photographed… how do you pose people?

I don't really pose people. I give you something to do — a direction, a moment — and let it unfold from there. Most couples forget about the camera pretty quickly.

How do we know how much coverage time we need?

Once I know your day — the timeline, what matters most to you — I'll help you figure out what makes sense. Coverage is built around your day, not the other way around.

I have some ideas for my engagement session — can we do them?

Yes, bring them! Any locations, activities, anything that's yours — I'll work with it. No ideas yet? I'll come with options based on what you share with me.

Do you also offer videography?

Photography only — that's where my full focus goes. If video is important to you, I'll help you find a great fit.

Can we divide the hours between our rehearsal dinner and the wedding day?

Yes — that's exactly what the 12-hour collection is designed for. We'll map it out together based on your weekend so nothing gets shortchanged.

Every story starts somewhere.

Your story began the moment that you two met, and you know that it's going to continue far beyond your wedding day, yet your photos from your wedding day are how you're going to be able to return to this moment in time for the rest of your life.

I know you’re planning a day that’s meaningful, personal, and full of heart, and I’d love to hear all about it.
